110-498701 - Error 42 _WINPROC.DRG 120 being received on v4.5 PU 4 (200) while selecting checks via check payment maintenance. Seems to happen when a large number of invoices is selected. Client is able to go back into program and finish selecting invoices and complete the check printing cycle without issue. Client has Radio Beacon installed. Client is on XP workstation with 3 GB of memory. Found an old KB article from v4.2 regarding the SO module. Seems to fit the issue. Solution does not.

Jeff, I have a client on 4.5 200 SQL that is having a similar issue. And it seems to happen when a large number of invoices are selected as well. For now we are selecting invoices in smaller groups. No Radio Beacon.(I don't even know what that is!)

So what both of you are saying is the problem happens when selecting but if you do it in smaller groups it works and you can print all invoices on one check? Good to know.

Geez, well it is good know but also frustrating to know that it is a Sage problem. Chances are it has been reported but is a hidden KB. Yes, this client prints checks weekly and they have a high number of invoices. A couple of vendors have several pages. I will experiment to determine if it is a high total for a vendor or just when the overall count (all vendors) is the trigger.

Brett, are they selected via the selection register or via the check maintenance?

That's making me think about another issue I just ran into. I was importing a large number of inventory items for a different client and it kept blowing up about 4 or 5 hours into the process. I'd just break-up the source file at the point it failed and rerun the import to get the rest of the items. It was blowing up somewhere around the 32,000 record point. I wonder if it's the old small integer limit: 32,767.

Thanks. Interesting that it blows in both programs.
