**100c?** There seems to be consistent misinterpretation/advertising of what Sage 100c actually provides. As far as I know it's basically a fresh coat of paint to Sage 100. Yes, there's now the ability to change the look and feel of the launcher/screens (i.e., alleged ""modernized look"") and control fonts, colors, etc., but is there really much more? I noticed in a recent article posted by a Sage Partner on 10/7, that 100c offers ""complete mobile access"", however it's my understanding that's only a benefit for 300c, not 100c. Unfortunately, this appears to be another example of information being copied from a 300c e-mail and applying it to 100c (or some variation of that). I would love to be proven wrong though because that could certainly provide an incredible feature to offer Sage 100 clients. Outside of that, it seems like 100c is just simply primarily geared toward the way Sage charges for Maintenance/Subscription. Right?

Basically true. Then there's 100c manufacturing (JobOps) and I think a watered down version of Inventory Advisor.

And if they go with Gold support they now get the Designer for Sage Intelligence. But, agree it is what you stated. But.... At summit... it is now cloud!

On November 5, 2015 Sage introduced Sage 100c. This release is Sage's next generation for Sage 100 featuring a modernized user interface and a change in how the product is priced from large initial payment and recurring maintenance to subscription paid yearly. Beginning January 1, 2017 Sage will phase out new license sales of Sage 100 in favor of subscription pricing for Sage 100c. Existing users of Sage 100 can stay on the product, though Sage is offering the opportunity to users whose maintenance renews during this quarter to move to Sage 100c until xx/xx/xx for no initial additional cost beyond the annual maintenance you would normally pay for Sage 100 renewal maintenance. Sage's End User License Agreement specifies that subscription costs may rise no more than 10% over the prior year price paid. ( https://goo.gl/Aq5LL0 ) After January 1, 2017 Sage 100c will be the only Sage 100 type license Sage sells to new users. Sage is actively in the process of moving existing Sage 100 users like you to the Sage 100c product. We think this will continue for the foreseeable future. In most cases, especially if you are using manufacturing, you should migrate to Sage 100c as we see Sage putting significant future development resources toward Sage 100c. If you are using Sage 100 Standard, we think you should consider migrating at the same time to the Advanced or Premium (SQL) version which is available under the promotion for no added initial cost. Talk to your partner about the advisability of this as there may be some reasons that SQL is not an option for you. Please let us know if you would like us to migrate you to 100c. Depending upon available promotions, this might be possible with no change in the initial year maintenance which goes toward 100c.

^ this is what I'm using. I have had a couple EU purchase straight from Sage and call after the fact to ask what's different. Luckily Sage takes the payment so we are sorta out of any request to undo what they did. Nobody has asked to reverse the 100c but we haven't gotten to year 2 or 3 yet to see if the renewals are going to increase.

I agree with all of the above. Assuming the current promotion of no increase over maintenance is indeed discontinued as of 1/1/2017, then customers will be looking at future 100c opportunities. Other businesses use that sales technique all the time, so it's not unusual - sort of like insurance, but the result is something good. Amazingly we have found customers are happy with the new look, so that may still be a selling point for 100c.
