100c Upgrade Pricing As some may expect, I am actively reviewing 100c upgrades with our customers. The problem is the complexity when pricing upgrades and the somewhat arbitrary rules applied for the pricing. As a result, I take a stab at it and always send it to our Sales Advisor to review and approve. Today I was told that they have a 24-hour turnaround time on all requests sent in. That's the first I have heard of that additional rule. I already notified my RSM that the upgrade pricing is too complex and he does not agree. I'm getting the message that they are not all that serious about doing these upgrades. Otherwise they should allocate dedicated people to work with us and provide quotes. (Perhaps they could temporarily use some of those 70+ people laid off last week.)

I'm confused - doesn't Sage having a 24 hour turnaround make them more serious about these?

Maybe I should send a follow up e-mail to Laura Biasucci (VP Sales) after my half hour meeting with her at President's Circle. I told her we need an online pricing tool, including an acceptable quote for the prospect and comparison of options, so we could turn these around quickly. She diligently wrote it all down and seemed genuinely interested.

@JohnHoyt - Erika Jelovsek also diligently took notes during the reseller session held on the last hour of the last day of conferences the last decade. She filled the easel completely full. I witnessed that numerous times. I don't think those notes ever saw the light of day and are probable at the bottom of Florida landfill (or recycled). Just saying...

When a new person is hired at Sage the first trick they're taught is the art of seeming empathic through extreme note taking.

You mean RealJohnHoyt discovers the reality when it comes to Sage? There may be an Iron Mountain warehouse somewhere that contains all the notes taken when talking with business partners?

Response from RSM on the turnaround time: ""I'd like to have the Sales Advisor train you, so you can then get ""approval"" and go from there."" So, do I get 5% more in tier for doing her work?

Well, then you could be the 90Minds quote master...

@JohnHoyt when you did your 100c upgrade pricing did you have to price in a monthly fee for Crystal Reports? I had received infor back a few months ago that users would have to license the full Crystal and that it wasn't bundled into 100c. Now I'm seeing another user reporting that they were told 100c does come with Crystal and that the price sheet was mistaken (and being corrected).

I have been told that was an oversight and 100c includes 2 Crystal Designers.

After 2 minutes of thinking about this, perhaps there are more oversights in the 100c pricing.

I questioned Sage on this right away and the woman who did the original webinar indicated none were included so it looks like they've changed their minds
